Post Care Advice

Post-Install Period

  • Vinyl takes up to 48 hours to fully adhere.

  • Avoid washing during this time.

  • Rain is fine, and sunlight can actually help speed up the curing process.

  • Avoid chemicals, oils, or waxes for at least 48 hours.

Settling Duration

  • Small imperfections such as minor bubbles or application marks can take 1–4 weeks to settle.

  • Sunlight helps speed this process.

  • If imperfections remain after 4 weeks, contact us with a photo.

Washing & Cleaning

  • Remember: vinyl is not paint.

  • Avoid automated car washes, high pressure sprays, and strong chemicals.

  • Instead, use:

    • Microfibre cloths

    • Light soapy water

    • Standard hose pressure

  • Excludes “one-way vision” vinyl, which requires extra care.

Sunlight Protection

  • Vinyl and ink may fade in extreme UV exposure, especially on horizontal surfaces.

  • Where possible, park in shaded or covered areas (carport, garage, under trees).

Spot Cleaning Contaminants

  • Remove bugs, bird droppings, tree sap, or tar immediately.

  • These can stain or damage the vinyl.

  • Soak with warm water, then wipe gently with a microfibre cloth.

Fuel Spillage

  • Avoid any contact with fuel.

  • Spills can cause blemishes, lifting, or corrosion.

Vinyl Care Products

  • Consider adding a ceramic coating or sealant for extra protection and durability.

  • We stock a range of vinyl care products—ask us for recommendations or drop by Wrap Studio.

Removing Vinyl

  • When it’s time to remove, apply heat (heat gun or hairdryer) to soften adhesive.

  • Vinyl should peel off easily.

  • Any leftover adhesive can be removed with adhesive remover.

If not maintained properly
